In addition to writing, JLove devotes much of her time to creative activism. JLove’s work, broadly speaking, is the development of inspired dialogue within and between diverse communities. In practical terms, she promotes and supports the work of artist/activists who share with her the “joy of resistance” and supports the cultivation of young women’s leadership in this country. We Got Issues! is designed to encourage young women’s leadership by tapping into the transformative power of creative expression, and unleashing the voice of a new feminine generation. Our mission is to awaken a new brand of feminine centered leadership and social/political activism in America.
Eradicating Racism
A program of 1+1+1=One, the mission of Eradicating Racism is to build an anti-racist movement of white people who acknowledge the racism within ourselves and our society and are work to dismantle white supremacy and heal the wounds of racism . We conduct our work in alliance with multi-racial communities who share a common vision of liberation.

Empowered Mama is a national motherhood project. Marla Teyolia & Jennifer “JLove” Calderon actively work with women through red tents, monthly gatherings, life coaching and workshops in order to create & nurture the sacred spaces in which personal transformation can occur.

R.E.A.C.Hip-Hop is a diverse coalition of artists, activists, hip-hop historians and writers, and educators in alliance with the greater hip-hop community. We are dedicated to encouraging and creating fair and equal representation of the diversity of Hip Hop Culture, including (but not limited to): race/ethnicity, nationality, class, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and disability. R.E.A.C.Hip-hop believes Hip Hop’s true legacy belongs to the people, and we strive to utilize Hip Hop as a vehicle of social and political justice to promote education, information, and empowerment for the masses, while preventing the dissemination of negative stereotypes, discrimination, and violence.
